Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities and conducts security checks; inspects areas for safety/security deficiencies and searches for contraband.
• Escorts offenders, visitors and staff inside and outside the institution and verifies passes or documents.
• Maintains logs, prepares reports, and enters information into the DOC offender record system.
• Operates electronic doors, radio systems, CCTV, alarms, and computer terminals.
• Attends training classes and may train or lead other staff.
