The Oregon Department of Corrections is hiring an entry-level Correctional Officer for Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon. You will join a team responsible for maintaining order, enforcing rules, and ensuring safety for adults in custody while supporting on-the-job training and classroom instruction.

Entrants begin with the Basic Corrections Course (BCC), with probationary time and shift variations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• U.S. citizen
• Meet DPSST physical standards
• Reading comprehension, report writing, and retention abilities
• Pass an ODOC background investigation
• OAR 259-008-0015 compliance

Responsibilities

• Work in a team setting to maintain order within the institution
• Enforce rules and regulations while providing care for safety and security
• Supervise work assignments and monitor activities of adults in custody
• Conduct cell checks and searches for contraband
• Observe, inspect, and report safety, sanitary and fire hazards
