Job summary

Saline County Sheriff's Office is seeking Corrections Officer I to join the jail operations. Shifts run 6:00AM–6:00PM or 6:00PM–6:00AM with a 24-hour one-week, 56-hour next-week schedule and alternating weekends off. The starting wage is $24.72 per hour with a $1 shift differential for evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
• High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Good clerical skills.
• No felony or domestic violence convictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide correctional duties in the jail facility, supervise inmates in booking, operate video equipment, photograph and fingerprint inmates, process paperwork and maintain records.
• Supervise inmate workers, record visitors and monitor visitation, perform jail checks and inmate counts, perform searches.
• Maintain security for all outside security doors, monitor cameras and intercoms, administer medications, attend required training, and testify in court cases.
