Job description

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is presently taking applications for the position of Corrections Officer (Jailer) for which we currently have open positions.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office provides an excellent opportunity for a career in corrections and law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office provides ample training and certifications necessary to work as a correctional officer in Nebraska. A structured training program is in place to ensure that new employees can excel in a corrections environment.

All full-time employees working 40 hours or more per week are eligible for health insurance benefits at the first of the month following date of hire.

In addition to health insurance, Madison County offers a wide variety of insurance options. Madison County also offers supplemental insurance plans. These are at employee cost.

Correction Officers work 12 hours shifts with every other weekend off.

Current salary is $49,437.60 to $70,043.20. October 2026 salary is $51,545.80 to $72,929.34. Negotiable with experience.
