Job summary

The City of Burbank is seeking a dedicated jail facility operator to safeguard inmates and arrestees, perform prisoner intake and processing, and maintain accurate records. This role involves coordinating with courts, handling sensitive information, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Candidates must meet education and licensing requirements, pass examinations, and be able to work various shifts, including overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
• Valid California Class “C” driver’s license at appointment; CPR/First Aid certificates within one month.
• BSCC Adult Corrections Officer Core training within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a City jail facility and ensure safety and well-being of inmates and arrestees.
• Receive, search, book, and release prisoners; transfer to courts and other locations.
• Conduct checks for warrants; fingerprint and photograph prisoners; maintain records and reports.
• Provide information and non-enforcement services to the public; assist with court arraignments and prisoner transport.
• Use PPE and SCBA, and operate specialized clerical police equipment.
