Job summary

Riverside Regional Jail is seeking a full-time Jail Officer to provide custody/control of inmates and to conduct background investigations on applicants and staff. The role requires completion of various checks, data entry into IAPro, and related duties to ensure safety and compliance.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Virginia driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide custody/control of inmates as assigned.
• Conduct preliminary and full background investigations on applicants.
• Complete background checks on visitors, volunteers, interns and contractors.
• Enter data into IAPro software.
• Perform annual DMV checks on transportation staff and facility investigations.
