Riverside Regional Jail is seeking a qualified professional to conduct individualized screenings to identify inmate needs and coordinate access to internal and external reentry resources. The role includes counseling, mentoring, and crisis intervention as required.
You will deliver classroom instruction focused on transition to the community and job readiness, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and at least two years of relevant experience, with correctional background
Duties: Conduct an individual screening based on inmate input to determine specific areas of need to help prepare the inmate for reentry. Acts as a liaison for the inmate to coordinate internal programming and external community services available in preparation for release.
Provide individual counseling/mentoring, and crisis intervention as needed, throughout the inmates’ period of incarceration. Provide classroom instruction in areas pertinent to the preparation of transitioning into the community, and family. Provide classroom instruction specific to the area of functional and vocational competencies to prepare for job readiness.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminology, Psychology or any other human service related field. A minimum of (2) years of experience in a private, public or government sector required. Prior experience in a correctional environment preferred.
Pay:$55,894 – $82,100
