The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene is seeking experienced Corrections Officers. As a Corrections Officer 3, you will supervise a staff providing care, custody, and control of inmates at SCI Greene. You will assign work duties, complete performance evaluations, interview applicants, and conduct staff training. You will oversee daily operations at the facility involving security, food service, maintenance, medical services, and recreational activities. In addition, you will conduct daily tours of inmate housing units and address any concerns. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to monitorall movements and activities to ensure adequate inmate supervision. In addition, you will usesurveillance to detect irregular inmate behavior and participate in non-professional inmate counseling.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours WILL BE DETERMINED. You will have rotating days off.
• This position is eligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Corrections Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in corrections security work in a Pennsylvania state or county corrections facility. (Note: Persons seeking employment under this option will be required to successfully complete, or have completed, a training program conducted by the Department of Corrections.)

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirementis currentlywaived for this title.
  
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
