Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist in St. Louis to lead clinical education across correctional healthcare programs.

You will partner with the CNO, regional nursing leaders, and HR Learning & Development to design, implement, and sustain education for orientation, competency, and patient safety. You will develop materials, validate competencies, mentor preceptors, and ensure contract-specific education aligns with national standards.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Active RN license required unless contract scope allows otherwise.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience; leadership preferred.
• Experience in correctional or complex healthcare settings preferred.
• Experience developing and evaluating clinical education programs preferred.
• Knowledge of adult learning, competency validation, and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CNO and nursing leadership to assess education needs and implement responsive programs.
• Maintain orientation, onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing development across contracts.
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate education materials and staff training modules.
• Lead preceptor development and mentoring for new hire integration.
• Ensure compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and contract requirements in education activities.
• Deliver in-person and virtual education sessions, webinars, and train-the-trainer activities.
• Travel up to 50% nationally to support Centurion/MHM contracts.
