Job summary

Oregon Counties’ Public Health department seeks a Corrections Nurse (RN) to provide first-line health assessment and ongoing care for Adults in Custody in the county jail, under supervision of the Public Health Nurse Supervisor.

The role requires a current Oregon RN license, correctional nursing experience, and ability to work independently in a secure environment. Duties include medical records, referrals, and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Current Oregon RN license.
• STD/HIV education/examination, trauma assessment and correctional nursing training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial health assessment and ongoing health care to all AICs.
• Triage patient care and make necessary outside referrals.
• Maintain complete medical records for each AIC.
• Ensure compliance with state and county regulations and medical standing orders.
• Stock infirmary and manage medications and supplies.
• Review all billing for services.
