Qualifications

• Eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Alaska.
• Current Alaska RN license or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Successful completion of a formal Corrections Nurse I training plan or one year of RN experience.
• Background check and TB testing as prerequisites.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess inmates.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Maintain inpatient medical records.
• Observe, document, and report changes in inmates’ physical and mental conditions.
• Handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
