Job summary

The Alaska Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services, is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse 1/2 to join the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center team in Eagle River, Alaska. Under supervision, you will provide full psychiatric nursing care to inmates, including triage, medication administration, and care on mental health units.

Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $56.93, with a flexibly staffed structure.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
• Background checks and fingerprinting may be required prior to employment.
• Annual TB testing may be required and indicated at recruitment time.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Provide general nursing care to inmates on mental health units and maintain medical records.
• Monitor physical and mental conditions of inmates and support nursing care in acute/subacute units.
