The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Registered Nurse position within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. You will provide daily nursing care for offenders, perform assessments, support medication administration, and contribute to safe health operations within the facility.

Key duties include health assessments, medication support, treatment delivery, records updates, and health education for staff and offenders.

Formación

• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees with an active temporary practice permit must obtain RN licensure within one year as defined by the PA State Board of Nursing.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Must show possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA RN license at time of appointment.
• Must pass background investigation and CJIS compliance requirements.
• Interviews are scheduled the week of November 30, 2026.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct health assessments: perform physical assessments, identify concerns, and determine nursing diagnoses.
• Administer medications, monitor compliance, and observe treatment effectiveness.
• Deliver treatments, assist with examinations, and support daily living needs for assigned individuals.
• Update electronic health records, review charts, and prepare documentation for transfers or releases.
• Educate staff and offenders on health practices and reinforce safe behavior.
• Maintain infection control and quality procedures and stay ready for inspections.
