Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks licensed medical professionals to deliver on-site care at correctional facilities in Minnesota. Responsibilities include conducting medical assessments, documenting hours, and providing 24/7 on-call services.

Prescribe medications with clinical judgement and ensure compliance with facility policies. Required are a current medical license in the service state, board certification, DEA registration, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Valid medical license in the state where services are provided.
• Board Certification required.
• DEA registration required.
• Collaborative agreement may be required by state.
• Experience in primary care, corrections, or managed health care delivery preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training required.

Responsibilities

• Perform problem-focused, individualized medical assessments.
• Be physically on-site at assigned correctional facility(s) on a regular basis.
• Must document dates and times of provided site coverage by logging hours into online payroll system.
• Provide 24/7 on-call phone services.
• Provide back up call for other facilities as needed.
• Examine patients on-site and stay until all patients seen.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within prescriptive authority, mindful of safety and interactions.
• Review patient medical records and sign off on orders as appropriate.
• Comply with facility policies and procedures.
• Coordinate off-site referrals when needed, subject to Sheriff/Jailer review.
• Attend minimum ACH medical conferences annually.
• Other duties as assigned.
