Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring for an entry-level maintenance position. You will perform basic manual tasks learned through short on-the-job training, using hand tools and operating equipment such as mowers and forklifts.

You must meet the minimum qualifications and be able to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather, and follow safety practices while supporting facility maintenance across sites.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with one or more years of experience relevant to the listed job functions, or completion of a relevant technical training program, or job certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance: painting building surfaces and equipment, patch plastering walls, carpentry on furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors.
• Handle plumbing tasks such as unstopping toilets and drains; replace faucets, valves, and washers; repair water line leaks; replace light bulbs/outlets/switches.
• Carry out limited repairs of electrical motors, generators, and communication equipment and operate various maintenance tools and vehicles.
