Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas is seeking an LVN to provide total nursing care for assigned patients under guidance of a Registered Nurse in a jail health setting at Jail North Tower. You will deliver patient-centered care, communicate with patients, families and staff, and follow Texas Nursing Practice Act, policies and Joint Commission standards.

The role requires active LVN license, BLS certification and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely treatments and safe

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Must be licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as an LVN or hold a valid Compact LVN license.
• Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA/ARC/ Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Screens and prioritizes patients to ensure timely treatment per physician orders and policies.
• Assist with inpatient/clinic coordination and patient flow as directed by nursing/medical staff.
• Maintain knowledge of nursing regulations and Joint Commission standards to ensure compliance.
• Provide patient and family education and participate in community outreach when assigned.
• Assist with precepting new employees and students as directed by supervisor.
• Complete documentation according to established procedures.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely treatment and coordinated workflow.
• Ensure supplies are available for patient care and assist with stocking as needed.
