The ideal candidate holds an active LPN license and current BLS/CPR certification, with comfort caring for a diverse inmate population and adhering to NCCHC standards.

Qualifications

• LPNs deliver care to inmate patients utilizing nursing assessment protocols in assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• LPNs collaborate with the Registered Nurse to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Inmate population may have limited prior access to healthcare, offering opportunities to address a range of health concerns.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments of inmate patients in various facility settings.
• Coordinates and administers medications and treatments.
• Maintains medical record documentation in SOAP format.
• Promotes safety for patients and staff.
• Maintains current standards of practice knowledge and competency.
• Reports reactions to treatments and changes in inmate condition.
• Adheres to professional standards and NCCHC/other accrediting bodies.
• Maintains active BLS/CPR certification.
