Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in nursing or in a healthcare/business related field.
• Advanced degree in nursing or related healthcare field is preferred.
• Three (3) years relevant management experience in a healthcare environment.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of correctional custody methods and techniques, pertinent facility rules, regulations and standards, principles and practices of supervision and training, and principles and practices of management.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good working relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contractors and outside providers.
• Use established policies and sound judgment to meet responsibilities and duties of the position.
• Assist in formulating facility policy for the medical unit and enforce contract requirements.
• Evaluate and improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of health-related services.
• Communicate clearly with administration, staff, inmates and the public, and provide reliable testimony when required.
• Complete annual evaluations of staff under direct supervision.
• Ensure adequate staffing, fill in during shortages, and may perform nursing duties as needed.
