Job summary

Multnomah County Health Department seeks a Community Health Nurse to deliver professional healthcare to detained individuals across three facilities in Portland area.

Responsibilities include triage, care planning, acute event response, wound care, and transition planning for release, in collaboration with Corrections staff. Requires RN license, nursing degree, and BLS/CPR; experience in diverse populations is valued.

Qualifications

• RN license issued by Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional healthcare to detained individuals starting at intake triage and care planning.
• Manage patient care in custody and coordinate with deputies to ensure safety.
• Respond to acute medical and mental health events, and manage withdrawals.
• Perform wound care and delegate medications as needed.
• Deliver health education and facilitate transition planning for release.
