Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals inside a jail/correctional facility in Duplin County, NC. The role reports to a Food Service Director and operates on-site within the detention center.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and service, be able to follow safety regulations, and work well in a team while adapting to changing needs and schedules. Training is provided and daily pay options are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, 21+.
• Preferred: institutional food service experience.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate loads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with quality foods per menu and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, food-safe workstation and proper sanitation.
• Serve meals during planned schedules according to procedures.
• Operate kitchen utensils and equipment as needed.
• Follow all food safety regulations for handling and storage.
• Perform routine tasks and stay organized throughout shifts.
• Stand, walk, lift, bend, and move as required on shift.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

About This Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Duplin County Detention Center.

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Required:
• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Preferred:
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
