Job description

The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Corrections Food Service Leader 3 position . This position is based out of Dodge Correctional Institution located in Waupun, WI.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for food preparation and distribution for the Dining Room and Tray line for Dodge Correctional Institution on an assigned shift. Also included is functioning as lead workers, these positions assign and review the work of Corrections Food Service Leader 2’s position on a shift and are responsible for training new staff. This position also trains, leads and direct PIOC in the production, distribution and service of food. This position works from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range (03-13) with a starting pay rate of $23.24/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A 12 month probationary period is required.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience with food values and nutrition
  • Experience with large-scale food preparations
  • Experience maintaining sanitation standards in food service

In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience monitoring proper procedures for food handling, portion control, leftovers
  • Experience with food service inventory
