The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Security Supervisor to oversee custody and safety operations in a detained facility. You will supervise staff, enforce policies, and ensure compliance with procedures.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, some college coursework, and at least three years' experience in corrections with supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership and stress tolerance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in a correctional setting; one (1) year in management or supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security/control activities and staff in an assigned area to coordinate detainee supervision and safety.
• Develops and implements policies, procedures and regulations for custody, security and/or treatment of detainees/inmates.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences and facilitates prompt assistance to detainees/inmates in injury or emotional trauma.
• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, training and disciplinary actions.
• Maintains records, post orders, and ensures staff are trained in procedures including emergencies.
• Ensures compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for security operations.
• Gives guidance on situational problems and refers complex issues as needed.
