Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Department of Corrections seeks a Corrections Maintenance Foreman at SCI Coal Township. You will supervise inmate work crews, plan daily maintenance and oversee skilled tasks, ensuring timely, safe operations across the facility.

Responsibilities include directing carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and other trades, managing tools and materials, and coordinating purchases to support projects.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethton, PA is required.
• You must possess a valid driver's license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• You must pass a background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead inmate workers in construction, groundskeeping, janitorial duties, and general maintenance
• Plan daily schedules, oversee tasks, and inspect completed work
• Provide instruction in the operation of machinery, review tool use, and support preventative maintenance
• Assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and other skilled trades
• Issue materials, track tools, and conduct searches to ensure proper accountability
• Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests to support work assignments
