Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for PRN shifts in the United States. The role involves providing emergency medical care to inmate patients within correctional facilities, conducting initial exams at intake, and responding to day-to-day medical issues.

The position requires high school diploma or GED and completion of an EMT or Paramedic course, with preference for prior correctional experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Requires completion of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic course.
• Prior experience in a correctional or jail setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical response and basic life support to inmate patients using CPR and equipment.
• Assess and document medical history and treatment of inmates; administer prescribed treatments as needed.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and sterilized; assist physicians or extenders during procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, jail administration and patients; willing to assist in duties and overtime if necessary.
