Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Corrections, Division of Education seeks a Corrections Vocational Instructor to deliver electrical trade instruction to adult inmates in a secure facility. You will plan, coordinate, and assess NCCER-based curricula and safety programs, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with ACA, NCCER, and OSHA standards.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and at least three years of trade experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Three years of trade-related experience.
• Additional education can substitute for up to two years of trade experience.
• Experience in a trade can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provides targeted instructional vocational services in electrical coursework to adult inmates within a correctional facility.
• Prepares lesson plans aligned with NCCER Core Curriculum and OSHA standards.
• Delivers instruction using multiple modalities (distance, virtual, tablets, smartboard).
• Maintains records in KOMS, submits transcripts and monthly reports as required.
