Job summary

Snohomish County is seeking a Corrections Deputy to monitor and supervise inmates across the county jail and related facilities. The role involves booking, security checks, escorting inmates, medical verifications and supervision of programs, with emphasis on safety and compliance with jail rules.

No prior experience is required for entry level; candidates must be 18+, be a US citizen or eligible, and complete required training within six months.

Qualifications

• No previous experience is required for entry level Corrections Deputy.
• Must pass criminal history background, polygraph, psychological evaluation, pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.
• Satisfactory completion of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Academy within six months of hire.
• Duties require ability to work in a secure detention environment and enforce jail rules.

Responsibilities

• Books inmates into jail, work release or community corrections programs and conducts intake.
• Supervises inmate activities, meal services, medical verifications, and visits.
• Conducts security checks, searches, and manages transport prep for court appearances.
