Job summary

Snohomish County is seeking a Corrections Deputy to monitor, supervise, and maintain custody of inmates in the Snohomish County Jail, the residential work release facility, and community corrections programs. The role requires completing the State Basic Corrections Officer Academy and meeting minimum age and citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities include booking inmates, supervising housing areas, coordinating with medical staff, monitoring medications, and ensuring safety during transport

Qualifications

• No prior experience required for entry level Corrections Deputy.
• Must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
• Satisfactory completion of a Washington State Criminal Justice Training Academy within six months.

Responsibilities

• Books inmates into jail, work release, or community corrections programs and records information.
• Supervises inmate movements, meals, cleanup, medical needs, and visitation activities.
• Monitors compliance with program rules, outside appointments, and electronic monitoring where applicable.
• Conducts security checks, searches visitors and inmates, and manages headcounts.
• Prepares reports on violations and assists in disciplinary proceedings.
• Coordinates transportation for inmates to courts and appointments.
