Qualifications

• Must be certified in the State of Florida as a Corrections Officer, in an active academy/basic course, or in a crossover from LE to CO.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must possess a valid High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates and maintain the security of the facility.
• Contribute to the health and welfare of inmates and promote public relations.
• Enforce the rules and regulations governing facility security, inmate accountability and conduct.
• May be authorized to carry firearms. Work twelve-hour shifts including nights, holidays and weekends.
