Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Public and personal contact work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of civil and criminal law, court procedures is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Corrections: Processes inmates into custody; conducts security checks of inmates; maintains logs; conducts cell searches for contraband; reviews incoming and outgoing mail; supervises cleaning details; transports inmates; attends to inmate needs.
• Court Services: Processes entrants through courthouse security; conducts security checks; maintains courtroom control; protects judges, court officials, witnesses, jurors and others; supervises escort/transport and restraint of prisoners; processes civil and criminal papers.
