Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie, LA, part of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections - Corrections Services, seeks a dedicated Corrections Captain to join our leadership team. The role oversees daily operations, staff development, policy compliance, and a secure environment for staff and inmates.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, sound judgment, and experience in security, with eligibility for a promotion of a permanent employee.

Formación

• Three years of experience in a correctional, behavioral, or penal institution with security, custody, rehabilitation, or classification responsibilities.
• One year of experience in a role equivalent in scope to a Corrections Lieutenant in the State service or in law enforcement.
• Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR one year of experience in any field; OR six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.

Responsabilidades

• Makes daily assignments of subordinate officers to ensure adequate security at each post.
• Responds to emergencies and assists in bringing emergencies under control.
• Makes recommendations for handling violent inmates or disciplinary problems and manages inmate movement to maintain security.
• Oversees or assists with unscheduled shakedowns to locate and confiscate contraband.
• Supervises Shift Lieutenants, Master Sergeants, Sergeants, and Cadets.
