Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
• One year of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Four week Correctional Officer Training Academy in St. Gabriel, LA.
• Security Officer in a hospital environment.
• Work closely with inmates incarcerated in a State prison facility who are receiving care at the University Medical Center of New Orleans.
• Primarily responsible for the custody and security of inmates being treated in a hospital setting.
• Supervise and escort inmates, report and investigate suspicious activities, perform in-depth security searches/shakedowns of inmate’s person, property, and living quarters.
• Follow direction given by upper level officers, departmental policies, and regulations.
• Will receive firearms training.
