Correctional Youth Security Officer I - Fort Logan

This role is based at the Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan, which is expanding its capacity to better serve the community with additional forensic beds. The position involves maintaining safety and security within the hospital, supporting clinical staff, and responding to various crisis situations.

Position Details
  • This is an in-person role requiring shift work at a 24/7 facility.
  • Applicants must be Colorado residents, at least 21 years old, and pass a background check, TB test, and other assessments.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Respond to hospital staff requests and assist in crisis management, including physical interventions when necessary.
  2. Maintain security through patrols, observation, and safety inspections.
  3. Transport clients and staff as needed, and communicate with law enforcement agencies.
  4. Support environmental safety checks and participate in emergency drills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: college coursework in behavioral health or justice, experience with detained or adjudicated individuals, and conflict management skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • Background check, valid Colorado driver’s license, and other health and safety requirements.
