Basic Purpose

Positions in this job family perform professional teaching work at elementary or secondary levels in correctional facilities, applying specialized methods for inmate habilitation.

Typical Functions

• Conduct classes in core academic areas tailored to students' needs.
• Plan and deliver courses, prepare exams, and generate reports on student progress.
• Use instructional materials and provide individual guidance and counseling.
• Maintain discipline, assist in extracurricular activities, and manage administrative reports.
• Participate in meetings and staff development activities.
• Maintain inventory of educational resources.

Level Descriptor

This is a career level for delivering educational programs to inmates at full performance level, without supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge: Modern educational principles, content knowledge, and methods for diverse learners.
