This advertisement is for a CORRECTIONAL SUPERVISING COOK (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) position located at CALIFORNIA STATE PRISON, SACRAMENTO (SAC) in REPRESA, CA located in SACRAMENTO COUNTY

This part-time position will be working 8 hours per week. The monthly salary range for this position is $890.40 to $1095.00

Located next door to Old Folsom Prison, California State Prison - Sacramento (SAC) is a licensed health care facility that provides patient services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Folsom is a family friendly city, which touts nationally recognized schools, recreational activities, fine dining, premium shopping, and access to an expansive network of hiking trails near the American River and Folsom Lake. It is within short driving distance for weekend getaways to Lake Tahoe or San Francisco.

Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Food Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF) or the supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook, DOC, the Correctional Supervising Cook, CF, supervises and trains staff and the incarcerated workers responsible for preparing meals for patients in a correctional health care facility and oversees the preparation and dispensing of therapeutic diets per physician orders. Ensures staff and the incarcerated workers follow all departmental and institutional policies and procedures including, Title 15, Department Operations Manual, California Code of Regulations Title 22, Standard Operational Procedures, Diet Manual, California Retail Food Code, and Food & Nutrition Services Manual. The Correctional Supervising Cook, CF supervises the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen facility and equipment. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.

Minimum Qualifications:

Either I:

Experience: One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Cook Specialist II (Correctional Facility) or a Cook Specialist II.

Or II:

Experience: Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity over cooks and other food service workers with responsibility for supervising and assisting with the preparation, cooking, and serving of various food items.

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
