Job Summary

This advertisement is for a Correctional Supervising Cook, CF position located at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) and Salinas Valley State Prison – Psychiatric Inpatient program located in Soledad, Monterey County. Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Food Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF) or the supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook, DOC, supervise and train staff and incarcerated workers responsible for preparing meals for patients in a correctional health care facility.
• Oversee the preparation and dispensing of therapeutic diets per physician orders.
• Ensure staff and incarcerated workers follow all departmental and institutional policies and procedures, including Title 15, Department Operations Manual, California Code of Regulations Title 22, Standard Operational Procedures, Diet Manual, California Retail Food Code, and Food & Nutrition Services Manual.
• Supervise the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen facility and equipment.
• Maintain order, supervise conduct of the incarcerated, and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.
• Additional duties may include support for a Training and Development assignment for eligible individuals.

Part‑time Details

This part‑time position will be working 16 hours per week. The monthly part‑time salary range for this position is $1,834.40 to $2,255.60.
