Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is hiring a Sergeant at East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meridian, MS. You will supervise correctional officers, ensure offender custody and safety, and enforce MDOC/MTC directives.

The position is full-time on a 12-hour shift with pay $21/hr. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, nine paid holidays, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent or GED.
• One year full-time, wage-earning correctional custody or law enforcement experience.
• A valid driver license in the state of Mississippi with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, instruct, train and evaluate staff.
• Ensure custody and safety of offenders in assigned area.
• Direct searches for contraband, including pat-downs.
• Transport offenders by foot or vehicle and restrain when needed.
• Read and apply offender records related to health, safety and security.
• Maintain records, forms and reports.
• Perform duties in housing, education, intake or other areas as assigned.
• Respond to emergencies and administer first aid.
