As a Correctional Security Officer Unarmed in Sumter, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government correctional location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, access points, buildings, grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain professional interactions with staff, visitors, and individuals in custody.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and document observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete required reports, activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
