Job summary

The State of Oklahoma is recruiting Correctional Security Officers for multiple positions across Oklahoma. Applicants must attend an 8-week live-in academy in Oklahoma City and return home on weekends.

Lodging and meals are provided; facility assignments depend on initial application preferences. Basic duties include keeping inmates secure and following post orders, with training and certifications supported by the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 20 years.
• Possession of 30 college hours or a high school diploma/GED.
• Successful completion of pre-employment testing and fitness evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and supervision of inmates across posts and activities.
• Escort inmates to work sites and manage counts and facility movements.
• Maintain order, report incidents, and document inmate behavior and status.
• Operate security equipment and enforce institutional rules and safety protocols.
• Participate in escape and riot response as needed.
