Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) in Dayton, OH to join a team serving inmates at Montgomery County Jail. The RN will perform screenings, deliver direct patient care, manage acute and chronic conditions, respond to emergencies, and coordinate care within a correctional health setting.

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within OH.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
• Knowledge of nursing practice principles and safety standards, infectious disease management, and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime
• Maintain integrity, professionalism and adhere to the facility's Code of Conduct and policies
• Pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
• Ability to interact with patients from diverse backgrounds including mental health or substance use issues
• Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information

Responsibilities

• Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
• Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
• Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing needs, developing care plans and coordinating services.
• Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Responding to medical emergencies and ensuring timely transport to facilities.
• Educating patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Adhering to correctional facility security protocols while coordinating with officers.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and reporting relevant information.
