The Correctional nurse works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population. The Correctional nurse utilizes their knowledge to address the specific challenges and limitations of the correctional environment while providing care to their patient population. This care includes both routine and emergency healthcare in a correctional facility setting.

Minimum Requirements

• Current RN License for the state in which the nurse practices.
• Minimum of one year of correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• Current and active BLS certification.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
