CBH Medical is hiring in Maryland for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Calvert County Detention Center. This full-time position offers a 12-hour shift pattern in a unique correctional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include direct care for incarcerated individuals, assistance with ADLs, routine vital signs and specimen collection, medication administration, and documentation. The role requires an MD LPN license and strong nursing fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maryland.
• Strong understanding of nursing care principles.
• Ability to recognize signs of mental illness, emotional disturbances, or substance dependency.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and administering PPD tests.

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Collect vital signs, lab specimens, and patient health data.
• Support sick call and assist providers with procedures.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate MAR documentation.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes.
• Conduct rounds and document patient progress.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Maintain medication security, including narcotics accountability.
• Assist with patient transfers and required reporting.
