Job summary

CBH Medical is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Rowan County Detention Center. This full-time Day Shift role operates on 12-hour shifts in a correctional environment, delivering direct patient care to incarcerated individuals.

You will assist with ADLs, collect vital signs, administer medications, and support providers with procedures while maintaining strict infection control and medication security.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Current LPN license in the State of Virginia.
• Knowledge of nursing care principles; ability to recognize signs of mental illness; phlebotomy and PPD testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Collect vital signs, lab specimens, and patient health data.
• Support sick call and assist providers with procedures.
• Administer medications and maintain MAR documentation.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes.
• Conduct rounds and document patient progress.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Maintain medication security and narcotics accountability.
• Assist with patient transfers and required reporting.
