Job summary

AvaMed Workforce seeks a dependable Radiology Technician to deliver diagnostic imaging at a correctional facility in Represa, California. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule and a six-month assignment with potential extension.

You will perform X-ray exams, prepare and position patients, uphold safety and confidentiality, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to support incarcerated patients.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Current California certification appropriate to radiology duties.
• Strong patient care, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure correctional environment.
• Ability to meet facility credentialing, health screening, and security clearance requirements.
• Correctional healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to provider orders and facility protocols.
• Prepare and position patients to obtain accurate, high-quality images.
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and provide respectful, professional care.
• Follow radiation safety, infection prevention, and equipment safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate imaging records and patient documentation.
• Coordinate with medical providers, nursing staff, and custody personnel.
• Follow facility security requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Report equipment issues and concerns affecting patient safety or image quality.
