Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Minnesota.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; at least 1 year in a comparable clinical position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological screenings and clinical assessments using records, interviews, and other relevant clinical information.
• Evaluate psychological functioning and identify appropriate mental health treatment needs.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized psychological treatment plans.
• Provide psychological counseling and therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Provide mental health assessment and crisis intervention services.
• Apply appropriate confrontation-avoidance and de-escalation approaches during crises.
• Conduct clinical rounds in segregation and other confined housing environments to assess mental health needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers, mental health professionals, security staff and other stakeholders.
• Gather and communicate clinical information to support coordinated treatment and continuity of care.
• Assess changes in psychological condition and behavioral functioning.
• Apply established counseling theories and techniques.
• Provide guidance during after-hours incidents and emergencies when required.
• Maintain professional standards in an institutional healthcare setting.
