Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatry services to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility. This includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric disorders and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality health care.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, providing brief psychotherapy, responding to crises, and coordinating care with other clinicians.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active medical license and DEA registration.
• Experience in psychiatric care, preferably in correctional medicine.
• Strong diagnostic and assessment skills with psychopharmacology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses of incarcerated individuals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications.
• Provide brief psychotherapy and counseling within a multidisciplinary team.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and perform crisis interventions.
• Maintain accurate psychiatric records and ensure confidentiality and compliance.
