Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric services to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility. You will assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality healthcare in a medical home model.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, treatment planning, documentation, and adherence to applicable laws and privacy guidelines while working in a dynamic correctional environment.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with an active license to practice in the state (and DEA)
• Experience in correctional medicine or working with underserved populations preferred
• Strong diagnostic and assessment skills; knowledge of psychopharmacology and treatment options

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnose mental health disorders in incarcerated individuals
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and prescribed medications
• Provide brief psychotherapy and counseling as part of a holistic care approach
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and correctional staff to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate psychiatric records and ensure compliance with laws and confidentiality
