Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Tucson, AZ to support licensed pharmacists in providing medications and other healthcare products to inmates within the Arizona Department of Corrections - Tucson.

The role requires adherence to strict protocols in a correctional environment and professional interaction with medical staff. The ideal candidate will have a state license/certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and CPR certification, with PTCB/ExCPT preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician license/certificate in state
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred
• Progressive administrative/management training in a pharmacy role with purchasing knowledge preferred
• General knowledge of brand to generic pharmaceutical equivalents
• Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association) required
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to obtain security clearance including drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense prescription medications to inmates in accordance with protocols
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving and storage
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications, patient info, and inventory levels
• Communicate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding orders and needs
• Adhere to security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to medications
• Provide basic medication information and instructions to patients
• Participate in quality assurance activities for accurate dispensing and policy adherence
