Salary will be determined in accordance with current pay procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • U.S. citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of basic recruit training course for correctional officers and one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida
  • No suspension within the past 12 months
  • No involuntary demotion within the past 24 months
  • Performance evaluation rating of 3.00 or higher within the past 3 fiscal years
Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise inmates based on risk level, manage housing areas, enforce rules and sanitation standards.
  2. Transport inmates using approved restraints, conduct head counts, and maintain custody during outside appointments.
  3. Inventory inmate property and issue receipts.
  4. Perform crisis intervention, including restraining violent inmates and defending persons, using approved methods and equipment.
  5. Maintain facility security through searches, inspections, and surveillance.
  6. Provide emergency assistance, including CPR, first aid, and evacuation procedures.
  7. Supervise correctional officers and inmates, manage inmate counts, and oversee transportation and reporting duties.
  8. Attend mandatory training and perform other related duties as required.
