The Russell County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants for the position of Correctional Officer. Russell County is located along I-70 in Western Kansas. Encompassing more than 900 square miles, Russell County is home to 7 small communities and one of the largest recreational lakes in the state.

TYPE: Full time

SALARY: Starting pay with no experience is $16.50 per hour.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The following are requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
Must be able to pass the applicant testing, background investigation, psychological exam and drug screening.
Must be open to scheduling flexibility (must have the ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays)
Must possess a Kansas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment.
Applicants must be of good moral character with no felony, or serious misdemeanor convictions.

Russell County offers medical insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Freedom Claims Management INC. Retirement is KPERS.
