The Buena Vista Correctional Complex includes two facilities: Buena Vista Correctional Facility (BVCF), opened in 1892, with a capacity of 934 medium custody inmates, and Buena Vista Minimum Center (BVMC), opened in 1999, with a capacity of 300 minimum custody inmates.
We have partnered with Fading West Development LLC to assist employees with housing options near the facility. Note that CDOC does not guarantee housing or operate these facilities.

The Correctional Officer I role involves maintaining safety and security within CDOC facilities, supporting our mission, and preparing inmates for reentry into the community. Responsibilities include inmate supervision, facility monitoring, conducting searches, managing inmate movement, and responding to emergencies.
